Can Beam Ultra be wall mounted?

Yes. We recommend using the Sonos Beam Ultra Wall Mount (sold separately).

Will Beam Ultra work with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) Wall Mount?

No. Beam Ultra and Beam (Gen 2) have different dimensions.

Which Sonos speakers work as surrounds with Beam Ultra?

A matching pair of the following speakers will work as surrounds: Sonos Play, Move 2, Era 300, Era 100, Sonos One (including Sonos One SL), Sonos Five, and SYMFONISK (Gen 2) speakers. You can also use Amp to power in-wall, in-ceiling or other passive speakers as surrounds.

Which generations of Sub are compatible with Beam Ultra?

All generations of Sub and Sub Mini are compatible with Beam Ultra. A dual Sub setup requires Sub 4 or Sub (Gen 3).

What is HDMI eARC? Do I need a TV that supports it?

eARC stands for enhanced Audio Return Channel. This type of connection allows full-resolution sound signals, including Dolby Atmos, to be passed from your TV to the soundbar.

How do I know if I'm getting Dolby Atmos?

Dolby Atmos is dependent on the source material as well as the TV passing an Atmos signal through the HDMI port. If the soundbar is receiving an Atmos signal, this will be displayed on the Now Playing screen and Settings menu in the Sonos app. For more information, visit support.sonos.com.

Do I need surrounds and a subwoofer for Dolby Atmos?

No. Beam Ultra supports Dolby Atmos as a standalone soundbar. A subwoofer and surrounds enhance the experience.

How does the Dolby Atmos experience differ between Beam (Gen 2) and Beam Ultra?

Beam Ultra has improved side-firing speakers for more precise spatial imaging and additional dedicated upward-firing speakers, meaning it can fully render Dolby Atmos content. Beam Ultra also has more bass output.

Beam (Gen 2) virtualizes Dolby Atmos height channels, meaning it renders two height audio channels through the front-facing speaker arrays using psychoacoustic HRTF technology to give the impression of height, rather than directing sound to the ceiling.

Beam Ultra also supports virtualized Dolby Atmos when simulated overhead sound is selected in the Sonos app.

How does the Dolby Atmos experience differ between Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra?

Both Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra include dedicated upward-firing speakers and deliver immersive Dolby Atmos audio. As a wider soundbar with more channels and a Sound Motion™ driver, Arc Ultra complements larger TVs to deliver a larger and more spatially precise soundstage with more, deeper low end than Beam Ultra.

Does Beam Ultra support Dolby Atmos Music?
